<description>I used that University of Alabama web site a LOT when planning my bike ride in 2006. It's a great resource. I carried printouts of sections of those maps with me.

I was also quite impressed with the county maps I got from the Alabama Department of Transportation. It was less than two weeks before my trip that I put in my order. To make sure, I called to ask how long it would take to process my order. I was assured they would be able to send them quickly. They got them to me with plenty of time to spare. Not bad for a government agency! And the maps were just what I needed for riding in the country.

I've had them right next to my computer while I've been writing my blog entries about my 2006 tour. They help me remember.
